Advancing towards its 3rd decade of establishment, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has attained numerous accolades and recognitions. These commendable achievements are a culmination of meticulously crafted strategic planning and visioning by previous leaders of the university. Over the years, UTeM has seen a shift of one Rector and three respectable Vice-Chancellors and every transition is marked by yet another leap of excellence. Succeeding the Vice-Chancellor’s Office from Ybhg. Professor Datuk Wira Dr. Raha Abdul Rahim is challenging and requires ultimate resilience and resolution in ensuring that the university’s vision, mission and culture of excellence continue to thrive and develop in line with our aspiration to emerge as one of the world’s best technical universities.

Validating our tagline “Always A Pioneer, Always Ahead”, UTeM will stride ahead in pioneering and trail blazing new initiatives through academic programmes that support the aspiration of higher technical education with an enhanced emphasis in developing pronounced technical skills (TVET) among its graduates.

Situated strategically in the UNESCO Heritage Site of the Historical City of Melaka, UTeM operates from two campuses namely the Main Campus at Hang Tuah Jaya and the Technology Campus near Ayer Keroh. The operations of eights (8) faculties are supported by two (2) learning centres which enables UTeM to attain prominence in providing technical and technology-focused academic programmes in engineering, engineering technology, ICT, and technology management and technopreneurship.

About Us

Office of The Vice Chancellor (PNC) was established together with the inception of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) which was formerly known as Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) on 1 December 2000.
PNC performs the general function and role of the Vice Chancellor's Administrative Office as the Chief Executive Officer of the University. The office is responsible for ensuring that the university's plans, programs and policies are successfully implemented, therefore achieving the desired mission and vision.

Objectives

Empowering the university's academic niche to the best capacities of teaching and learning, offering programs and syllabi that meet the latest standards and requirements to produce holistic graduates who are highly knowledgeable with impeccable personality, competent and highly sought-after by industries.
Strengthening research, development, commercialization and innovation activities leading to economic development (R, D, C, I & E) among academics to enhance knowledge exploration, knowledge sharing and resource efficiencies.
Enhance the development of excellent human capital through effective training modules, lifelong learning, attachment programs and exposure to practical experiences to develop highly knowledgeable staff for more efficient and excellent quality services.
To ensure that financial management is administered efficiently, transparently and effectively for the overall development of the university.
Empowering, cultivating and utilizing ICT in a more efficient, fast and effective administration.
Establish collaborative relationships and networks with institutions, agencies and industries from within and outside the country in the fields of academics, RDCI & E and administration for the benefit of both parties.

Functions

Office of the Chief Executive Officer or Head of Service at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) which is responsible for the overall developments and achievements of the university as determined by the vision, mission and objectives of the establishment of the university.
Formulate and plan short-term and long-term policies, programs and activities for conducive and sustainable university development.
Perform the tasks entrusted by making administrative decisions under the jurisdiction that has been allocated to it by the constitution, statutes, acts, rules and regulations of the government and the university.
Organize, coordinate and monitor the development of the university in all administrative matters in a systematic and effective manner so that it can be managed efficiently.
Evaluate and review all administrative instructions and decisions as well as their development to be complied with and further streamlined.
Establish and maintain good relations with external parties-institutions, agencies, industry, society and bodies of organizations that are allowed both domestically and internationally in order to create mutual benefits.
